Ednovate Background

Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Athletics will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and expanding a comprehensive athletics program across all Ednovate schools, ensuring schools have access to high-quality athletic programming and facilities and working towards full California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) membership compliance. Additionally, the Senior Manager will oversee league development, student-athlete success, and coach training and oversight, ensuring Ednovate’s athletics program fosters teamwork, discipline, excellence and sportsmanship. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in athletics who possesses strong organizational and relationship-building skills and is looking to create positive multigenerational change in a collaborative, results-oriented environment. This is a full-time, exempt role reporting to the Director of Academics.
What You'll Do
Develop a network-wide high quality athletics program. Develop and drive the implementation of a comprehensive athletics program across all Ednovate schools, ensuring students have access to structured and competitive sports offerings. Support schools in achieving and maintaining CIF membership, oversee the Ednovate Sports League, and manage scheduling, facilities, officials, and safety protocols. Secure equitable access to athletic spaces and implement policies that promote fair play, equity, and student safety. Train and support athletic directors and coaches, providing professional development, compliance oversight, and best practices.
Drive a holistic and equitable student-athlete experience. Ensure student-athletes receive academic and character development support. Develop programming that expands equitable opportunities, including girls’ sports, special needs athletics, and emerging sports. Oversee student leadership programs to foster teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
Lead strategic planning for the athletics program and growth. Develop a growth plan, identify areas for improvement, and secure funding, sponsorships, and scholarships. Collaborate with school leaders and community partners to ensure Ednovate’s programs remain competitive and innovative.
Collaborate with community organizations. Collaborate with Director of Community Schools, Community Schools Coordinators and Family Engagement Coordinators to ensure student-athletes have access to wraparound services, including academic support, mental health resources, and nutrition programs.
Manage budget and compliance. Oversee financial planning, ensure compliance with CIF policies and state regulations, and develop risk management procedures to uphold the highest safety standards for student-athletes.

We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree, required; Master’s degree in sports management, education, or related field, preferred
5+ years of experience in athletics administration, coaching, or school leadership, strongly preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of CIF policies and high school athletics regulations, preferred
Experience developing and scaling athletic programs across multiple schools or organizations, preferred
Budget management experience and familiarity with securing funding and sponsorships for school sports programs, preferred

A competitive and transparent salary ($80,000 - $125,000, depending on background and experience). NOTE: 2025-2026 salaries will be updated in March 2025.
