Ednovate Background
Ednovate launched its first school in 2012. Since then, we’ve grown to eight schools and are on a trajectory to reach 11 schools in just the next few years (you can read more about our schools here). Position Overview
As a Principal at Ednovate, you will be responsible for the academic, cultural, and operational success of your school. You will supervise the school leadership team, and collaborate closely with all stakeholders, including school staff, students, families and community partners. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a proven track record of high achievement in educational leadership to create positive multigenerational change by thinking creatively about school design within Ednovate's core model. This is a full-time, exempt role reporting to the Chief of Schools.
What You'll Do
Build and lead a healthy, diverse school team: Develop and communicate strategic school systems, culture, and vision, and build and implement a plan to achieve that vision. Lead with accountability and influence, consistently embody Ednovate’s values and serve as a role model for all staff. Manage and develop the school leadership team so that all teammates receive consistent, high-quality coaching and support and hold a consistently high bar for staff and student performance. Oversee recruitment, evaluation, retention, and dismissal for all school staff, and hold primary responsibility for professional development, staff observation, and staff communication.
Drive high-quality academics: Oversee curriculum, instruction, and assessment and ensure consistency within the program and alignment with state standards. Support Assistant Principals in ensuring teachers receive effective coaching, utilize teaching tools and data to drive instructional practices, and implement supports for all students that promote high levels of academic achievement, including special education and multilingual learner (MLL) programming. Analyze and respond to data to promote equitable academic outcomes for all students.
Create a caring and accountable student culture: Lead the implementation of Ednovate’s caring and accountable culture model and system, partnering with the Dean of Culture to use behavioral data to create a positive learning environment for all students. Ensure staff build transformative relationships with students through schoolwide systems such as advisory and partner with the leadership team to strategically plan programming that creates a positive student life experience and meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of students.
Ensure operational excellence: Support the Dean of Operations to ensure the school is safe, efficient, fully enrolled and financially healthy, with resources readily available and aligned to educational priorities to enable the highest level of learning. Drive regular communication with families about student performance, school policies, trips, and events, and respond to family concerns promptly and effectively. Oversee the school’s budget, risk, compliance, and legal activities, and maintain and adhere to the network’s fiscal policies and benchmarks.

We're Looking For (Qualifications)
Bachelor degree required
A California Administrative Credential, Single Subject Teaching Credential or Out of State Teaching Credential strongly preferred.
3+ years of school leadership experience with a strong record of improving student outcomes in academics, culture, and engagement required
