Ednovate Background

Ednovate is a network of public, tuition-free, high-performing college prep high schools in Los Angeles and Orange County. We serve first-generation college-bound students from traditionally underserved communities. Our students have a 99% college acceptance rate, but what matters even more is that we’re graduating self-aware, engaged young adults who are headed toward a life of purpose and impact.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Facilitate Engaging Student Programming: Support schools in the designing, planning, and executing a diverse range of student activities, including but not limited to clubs, organizations, cultural events, recreational activities, and community service projects. Source external partners to enhance the extracurricular program offerings at schools. Ensure that activities align with the institution's mission, values, and educational objectives.

  2. Lead Network-Wide Event Coordination: Coordinate logistics for network-wide student events, including venue reservations, equipment rentals, catering, transportation, and security arrangements. Develop and manage event budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers. Oversee event promotion and marketing efforts to maximize student participation and engagement.

  3. Develop a Winning Athletics Program: Support schools in developing and implementing their athletics programs, ensuring all schools are CIF members or on the path to becoming CIF members. Assist in sourcing facilities for athletics and maintaining and growing the Ednovate Sports League, from scheduling to facilities, officials to health & safety.

  4. Plan for Success: Maintain accurate records of program attendance, budgets, expenditures, and evaluations. Prepare regular reports and presentations for institutional stakeholders, highlighting the impact and effectiveness of student activities and athletics programs. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to student engagement, event management, and athletics.

We’re Looking For:

  • A rising leader passionate about increasing the college attainment rate for historically under-represented students.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in an workplace characterized by autonomy, flexibility, transparency and accountability
  • Collaborative team player who works well with others from diverse backgrounds and engages in healthy debate and conflict to get the best results for students and families
  • A rigorous time-and-task manager who can backwards plan to advance both long- and short-term priorities
  • Knowledge of CIF policies strongly preferred
  • Experience in budget management, and resource development strongly preferred
  • A graduate of a four-year university, preferably in education, student affairs, recreation management, or a related field, required; Master's degree, preferred.
